According to the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA), “Learning disabilities are neurologically-based processing problems”. The term “learning disability” is an “umbrella” term that categorizes a other, more specific learning disabilities, such as visual perception/ visual motor deficit, dyslexia, dysgraphia, language processing, auditory processing disorders and more.
Since learning disabilities are neurologically-based, and chiropractic aims to correct interference along the nervous system, it follows that reduction or elimination of such interference can only help. This in fact is supported by the research.
A 1986 study of children with learning disabilities being treated by chiropractic,
significant improvements were noted in visual perception and short-term memory, as
well as motivation, attitude, and performance in school. The children also demonstrated
measurable increases in IQ scores (8 points full scale, 12 points performance scale).
If you or your child has been experiencing any learning difficulty or disability, get yours and their spine checked. It could make a significant difference!
