Why You Should See a Chiropractor
“Look well to the spine for the cause of all disease.”

Hippocrates – the Father of Modern Medicine

The nervous system is the master control system of the body and allows the body to be self-regulating and self-healing.  The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves that run out to all of our organs, muscles and even our skin.

All of the feeling and experiences we have in life are taken in and processed through our nervous system to make up who we are.

The spine is what houses and protects the nervous system.  When the spine shifts out of position it interferes with normal nervous system function and can result in many of the following symptoms

            Headaches/Migraines                      Back Pain                  Neck Pain

High Blood Pressure                        Sciatica                     Leg Pain

Numbness/Tingling                         Shoulder Pain           Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

            Insomnia                                           Anxiety                      Fatigue

            Frequent Colds/Flu’s                        Allergies                    Sinus Problems

            Asthma                                              Arthritis                     AutoImmune Problems

All of these symptoms and many more can be a result of spinal misalignments, also called subluxations.

How Chiropractic Works:

Chiropractic works by gently and specifically removing stress and pressure from the spine and nervous system to allow the neurological impulses to flow unimpeded in the body.

By removing the stress and pressure from the spine and nervous system, the body is able to function and heal and a higher level.

How to Find a Good Chiropractor?

Most people choose their chiropractor or medical doctor by looking at who is closest in proximity or who is on their insurance plan.  This is, unfortunately, not the best way.

Insurance companies only allow chiropractors to practice what is called “symptom-based” or “medically necessary” care.  This form of care can help the patient get out of pain and feel better in the short term, but will not address the underlying root cause of the problem.  If the root cause of the issue is not corrected, the individual will continue to cycle into worsening problems over time.

The best doctor, is the doctor who takes the time to understand your concerns and works to find the underlying root cause and educate and empower you on the processes involved in correcting the root cause of the problem.

Most of the time, this sort of doctor does not work with the insurance companies because they enforce rules that do not allow the doctor to give the best possible care.  Fortunately, being out of network with an insurance company will allow clinics to discount their care plans and offer more affordable fees for out of pocket paying patients.
